Valley View University Department of Marketing Holds 2nd Marketing Practitioners Forum

The Department of Marketing of Valley View University in collaboration with the Marketing Students Association held its second marketing practitioners’ forum on April 24, 2014. The forum is a platform for marketing practitioners in Ghana to interact with final year marketing students on contemporary themes in marketing.

This year’s forum was chaired by Mr. Emmanuel Erastus Yamoah, the Head of Department of Marketing. The Guest Speaker was Miss Nadia Takyiwaa-Mensah, the Chief Executive Officer of Sixth Sense Manifesto Marketing Agency in Ghana. She spoke on the topic Personal Branding in Today’s Competitive Job Market.

The Guest Speaker highlighted the essential ingredients of personal branding. Students were admonished to always stand unique and differentiate themselves in response to the dynamics of the job market. Key successful branding attributes such as training on image, personality, tone or speech, passion and works were emphasized. The forum also discussed the role of morality and dependence on God as important compliments in achieving professional success. The programme was very educative, interactive and inspiring and was attended by sixty students.
